A High Signal Bitcoin Meet Up

Several SAVBTC members made the trip to Nashville, TN for the Bitcoin Conference 2024. Presentations by the likes of TFTC, Michael Saylor, RFK, Donald Trump & Edward Snowden made for an educational, social & inspiring weekend.

10 Members of SAVBTC made the trip out to Sylvania, Georgia for a free tour of a large scale mining farm. The farm houses approximately 2000 miners and buys excess power from the local grid, which would othewise be wasted. We would like to thank the staff at the farm to take time out their day to show us around and answer questions.

SAVBTC held another Bitcoin for Beginners event in May 2024. The topic of this meet up was titled ‘21 Tips to Securing your Bitcoin’ inspired by a recent article by Jameson Lopp, a well known Bitcoin OG and Cypherpunk.

We welcomed 2 newcomers to our social hangout in April 2024 held at B&D Burgers on West Congress Street. Social in person hangouts take place on the last Saturday of every month.

SAVBTC featured on Rabbit Hole Recap Episode #302 thanks to a Podcasting 2.0 boost. Marty & Matt were kind enough to promote our upcoming meet up!

SAVBTC held our 7th Workshop on Monday February 12th, 2024 at B&D Burgers. We met Brian Haggenmiller of the Coastal Georgia Buccaneers ‘Bitcoin’ Basketball Team and Tom, one of our founding members, held a presentation on ‘UTXO Management’.

January 10, 2024 became a significant milestone in Bitcoin’s 15 year History as the SEC approved 11 Bitcoin ETF applications. While many are celebrating, are there any downsides to the approval? What will it do to the price? One thing is for sure, with the halving coming in April, 2024 is likely to be an unforgettable year!

SAVBTC connected earlier this month with an Online Hangout and an In-Person Workshop. At the hangout we discussed the Bitcoin ETF, business ideas and the Bitcoin circular economy on the Island of Roatan. At the Workshop we welcomed 2 new members and held ‘Bitcoin Trivia’.

One of our members recently attended a Meetup in Glasgow, Scotland whilst on vacation there. ‘Glasgow Bitcoin’ has been hosting meetups for several months now. Their base is energized, knowledgeable & growing. We wish them all the best going forward!
